Dear Neighbors,
I would like to take this opportunity to let those who did not attend the January annual meeting
know that you missed a very informative meeting. We had guest from the City of Germantown
who discussed the survey that was sent to all of our neighbors during the last part of 2007. They
plan to return during one of our quarterly meetings, hopefully in April, 2008 to give us an update.
One of the items discussed during the annual meeting was the decorative street sign project.
As you know we have been working on this projcect for a couple of years. We were told by the
City that we are first up on completing the project before June 2008. We have about half of the
decorative signs completed and we have the funds to complete the last half of the signs. All we
are waiting on is for the City to get the bidding complete and complete the project in our
neighborhood.
Some of you may not know but our Association began as a Neighborhood Watch function. We
are hopeful that enough interest can be sparked in English Meadows to re-vitalized our
Neighborhood Watch program. More will come in the future as to how we will do this.
Finally, I would encourage all of our neighbors to join our Association. $15 per year is a bargain
since we meet four times a year for pot lucks and ice cream socials. Not only that but you will no
doubt receive, delivered to your door, one of the most informative newsletters that you could find,
written by Zea Knight. In addition to that we put our flags in the yards for national holidays, and
have Good Winds maintain the two entrances off Poplar Pike. Dues should be paid in January
of each year so if you have not paid yours put it in the mail.
